Su Pone Chit is a nine-year-old girl who lives with her family in Shwe Pyi Thar, one of the largest slum areas in Yangon, Myanmar. Su Pone Chit has been diagnosed with hypertension, has bow-leggedness, and is taking medications such as painkillers and gels for her aching legs. The Lotus Clinic is covering her medical expenses.
The mother is the family’s breadwinner, and she sells tempura and some local food in their neighborhood. The family is always struggling with their finances, and some days the mother cannot open the shop because she has no money left to start another day’s sale.
The child sponsorship team supported the family with the necessary groceries for their existing small shop, just so they are backed up with loads of groceries, more ingredients to expand their menu at their shop, attract more customers, and have more sales than before.
