Success story of Kaung Sithu Soe

Kaung Sithu Soe is a sixteen-year-old boy who lives with his mother in Thanlyin, one of the biggest slum areas in Yangon, Myanmar. Sadly, the child was diagnosed with polio at the tender age of 9 months old, and not only is he not able to attend school, but he also does not have the ability to speak.

The mother does all the odd jobs she can find in their neighborhood to make as much income as possible for her and her son. However, the amount of income she can make is still limited, and she always struggles to make ends meet.

The SANNI Foundation provided the family of two with the small business, which is a home grocery shop that sells rice, snacks, onions, garlic, shampoos, cooking seasonings, coffee, laundry detergents, canned fish, and various chili flakes. Now the business is stable, has regular customers, and is starting to make decent incomes, thanks to the SANNI Foundation’s support
