Back to school: Zan Min Maung
Zan Min Maung lives with his family in a slum area in Yangon, Myanmar. When he was accepted into the child sponsorship programme, he did not yet have a birth certificate – an essential document in order to attend school. With the support of our team, this document was obtained.
Later, the family faced a severe crisis: their simple home collapsed, and for a time they lived under a bridge. Zan Min Maung’s medical treatment and schooling were also at risk. Thanks to SANNI’s support, the family now has a home again, and Zan Min Maung is preparing to return to school in the 2026 school year.
Education as a door opener: Kapil
Kapil Kumar Arya is 19 years old and lives with his two sisters in Gurugram, India. His parents passed away when he was still young. Before joining a computer course at the Community Development Project in Chakkarpur, he had very little experience with computers. Kapil learned quickly, showed great determination and did not miss a single day of training.
The course changed his path: Kapil was accepted into a three-year college programme in Commerce. For him, this means not only education, but also confidence and the chance to one day support his sisters.
From a difficult start to a hopeful future
Phoo Pwint San is 11 years old and lives with her family in one of Yangon’s largest slum areas. Due to the family’s difficult financial situation, she was at risk of having to drop out of school.
Since 2023, she has been supported through a SANNI sponsorship. This allows her to continue attending school, ensures that her basic needs are met, and has helped her family gain more stability. Today, Phoo Pwint San is doing very well at school and even won first prize in a painting and drawing competition in 2025.
Her story shows how sponsorship can bring hope, security and a future.
