Many children in India are infected with the HIV virus from birth. Sick and weak, they are abandoned by their families and live on the street. Thanks to sponsorship, the smallest of the poor are given a new life. They are pepped up, given nutritious food and their weak bodies an opportunity to recover. In the long term they are supplied with the vital HIV medicines they need as well as monthly food and toiletry packets. They are also given blankets, clothing, towels and, above all, loving care and a sheltered, protected home.
