Self-determined living – a human right

 In News, Newsletter

Dear friends of the SANNI Foundation

Thanks to your support, the SANNI Foundation enables almost 1000 sponsored children in India and Myanmar to have a better life. This year, 17 young people in India were released from the support program. Your annual contributions have provided these young men and women with food, clothing, education and, last but not least, love and hope. Read three success stories below, representative of all those who have a self-determined future thanks to you. With just CHF/EUR 360 a year, you can sponsor a child and create a better future for them.

PS: Many thanks to everyone who took part in the SANNI Run! A sensational CHF 10,000 was raised, 100% of which will go to our children’s home in Yangon, Myanmar.

Yours sincerely,
Susanne Schroff

Happy Ending in a Dream in Pink

Infected with HIV without hope, Sandra and Sreerag found a new home with Father Jose as young children. What began as a childhood friendship developed into love over time. Sandra and Sreerag’s wedding took place last November in the presence of Susanne, Corinne and other SANNI supporters. There was not a dry eye in the house when Cardinal Baselios Cleemis blessed the couple. Sandra and Screerag now live together in their own small house and both work in the community hospital. Sreerag as an electrician and Sandra as a nurse. Training that they were able to complete thanks to SANNI sponsorships.

Strong Family Ties

Lekshman came to the Trivandrum center as a 7-year-old boy together with his twin brother. Both were infected with HIV. The brothers’ sister looked for them and found them with Father Jose when they were 15 years old. This is how the family was reunited. Thanks to the sponsorship, Lekshman was able to finish school and is now training in business. He works as an accountant in a grocery store and is able to support the whole family.

A Football Fairy Tale Comes True

Sachin has made an amazing journey: the young man now trains regularly in Bangelore with a football club that is recognized by the All India Football Federation. This is more than unusual in India, as Sachin belongs to the Dalit, the lowest caste in India. With the support of the SANNI Foundation, Sachin was able to build a home for himself and his mother in the village of his community. The young man has gained self-confidence thanks to his football talent and wants to provide for his mother and himself.

Review of the SANNI RUN 2024

On a sunny and warm Saturday on August 24, 2024, around 50 people ran, walked or strolled along Lake Greifensee. Whether the 18 kilometers around the lake, 10 or 5 kilometers, the only thing that counts is the will to be out and about for a good cause and to have fun. The morning was rounded off with an award ceremony and a delicious meal. We are proud that CHF 10,000 was raised on this day for our children’s home in Yangon. A big thank you to all the runners, walkers and helpers who spent this wonderful day with us and made the run possible. A special thank you goes to our OC team and our generous sponsors Mike Bär, Kurt Moser and Tom Capital AG! You can find more pictures here.

Become a part of the SANNI Foundation and give children a better future

Would you also like to contribute to giving one or more children a better future? For less than 1 CHF or 1 EUR per day (360 CHF or 360 EUR per year) you can sponsor a child in Myanmar and join our mission. A sponsorship provides a child living in poverty with support in the areas of nutrition, education, household and hygiene, as well as special lessons and vocational training when they are older. You can find more information at: https://sanni-foundation.com/en/projects/saving-children/

Don’t want to make a long-term commitment, but want to provide important help in the current emergency? Donations of any amount to our children’s fund, whose resources are used exclusively for the benefit of children in Myanmar, are always welcome.
