Now more then ever!

 In Uncategorized

On Monday 1st February, the Myanmar military staged a coup and took control of the government. Senior figures of the leading democratic party, NLD, have been detained alongside activists, writers and other opposition leaders. Presently there is relative calm, but the future is uncertain.

Now more than ever, it is imperative for organisations working in Myanmar to continue their vital work supporting vulnerable and impoverished communities. SANNI Foundation remains committed to helping these innocent communities and both the Lotus clinic and Child Sponsorship program will carry on. Our mission will not falter.

Furthermore, the devastating effects of Covid-19 still advance and SANNI’s projects must remain focussed on the most in-need during an extremely hard period. Thousands of people still need our help. Our priority is the wellbeing and safety of our benefactors and our staff.

There will likely be further crises this year, and though we do not know exactly when, our dedicated staff are ready. However, we need the support of our community of donors to ensure we continue to help the vulnerable and impoverished to strive for a healthier, happier and self-sustaining future.

Our new projects for 2021 will still begin, including distribution of solar panels to impoverished households to provide free, clean energy in Myanmar’s largest slums. We plan to extend our vocational program for young adults to help generate more economic independence to struggling households. The Lotus clinic will continue to develop its health services to cater for what the most urgent needs are, most recently we started a new cervical cancer screening service to prevent cancer in young women.

See below our achievements in 2020.

Kind regards,

Susanne Schroff
